I saw this at a local thrift store and had to grab it. The details on this room divider spoke to me. I've had this for 5 months and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. I tried dry brushing the wood black. I didn't like it at all. So it sat for a few more months.
Then today I told myself I just need to jump into this project. I love rich chocolate brown. So here I was spray can in hand hoping I wouldn't ruin this divider. I started spraying very lightly. I was afraid of ruining the rice paper. I liked it but it wasn't a rich enough color from me! So I decided to get spray happy!
One of my favorite colors with rich brown is aqua blue. So on the back side of this is completely aqua blue. The brown side is a neutral and aqua color is fun and whimsical.
I added a few aqua clothes pins to make this a photo message board. You could re-purpose this to be a headboard or great wall decor. It would be fun in a mud room or entry way.
All I know is I would like to keep it for myself, but alas I have a business to run so up for sale it goes! Tattered Butterfly Design adds a new one of a kind room divider.
